Arc 1

Note: Arc 1 is incomplete since most players are already familiar with it, prioritising Arcs 2 and 3 first before coming back to it.

Prologue

The game's prologue starts off with what seems to be a reenactment of the final battle between Kaiser Insight versus Yuuki, Hiyori, Yui and Rei from the first game.

But there is one key difference: Instead of Yuuki and co. defeating Kaiser Insight for a happy ending, the group seemingly are defeated instead.

Yuuki(?) then wakes up to see a mysterious, battered-looking girl. She comments on how it makes her slightly sad to see him acting like he doesn't know her, considering she knows him very well. She then introduces herself as "Ameth" since she's been called that quite often in recent times, and tells him that he is in something akin to a dream and will forget about her and their conversation when he wakes up. She also adds that she cannot interfere with reality as she is currently damaged and needs to focus on repairing herself, so she sent a guide to help guide him in reality.

A girl is taking a shower at a waterfall. She gets attacked by a golem after putting on her clothes, but she dispatches it with ease, complaining about how she's famished after that. Meanwhile, Yuuki wakes up to see a young girl cooking and singing to herself. She notices him waking up and introduces herself as Kokkoro, the guide sent by the great Ameth, and addresses him as 'Master'. The girl from earlier stumbles upon the two and finishes the meal Kokkoro prepared for Yuuki in an instant. A displeased Kokkoro asks for her name but the gluttonous girl dodges the topic by asking if "that girl" is an acquaintance of theirs, referring to a pink-haired girl being chased by a bunch of monsters. The trio goes to her rescue. After saving her, the pink-haired girl introduces herself as Yui, while the gluttonous girl—still refusing to give her name so Kokkoro nicknames her as 'Pecorine' for convenience's sake—asks them to come over to where she is, as she found an unconscious Beastfolk girl lying nearby. The group then carried the unconscious girl to a hospital in Landosol, the capital city of Astraea Continent.

What happens in between the prologue and Chapter 1 isn't mentioned in the Main Story itself, but bits and pieces were described in Interlude I (where Ameth gives you a quick summary) and most of it is in Bishokuden's Guild Story instead.

After the group carried the Beastfolk girl—whose name they found out is Kyaru, Yui treated Yuuki, Kokkoro and Pecorine to lunch to show her gratitude for saving her. They split up after that, and while Kokkoro felt lost on what to do next (since she's not used to city life), they ran into Kyaru again. Kyaru's inner monologue reveals that she was sent by 'Her Majesty' to secretly observe Yuuki and now that she accidentally got near them, she decided the next best course of action would be to keep them close instead, and offers to treat them to dinner to thank them for saving her. They ran into Pecorine again by coincidence when they were looking for a restaurant, and she offered to treat them to dinner with the prize money she just won from winning an eating competition.

Ever since then, Yuuki and Kokkoro have been living in an inn using the little pocket money she was given before she left her village. The 4 have also been meeting up for dinner every night and they got closer and closer. One day, Pecorine informed them out of the blue that she has created a Guild named Bishokuden and had registered all 4 of them as members, since there's a restaurant catered to 'advanced gourmets' and it only serves people if they come in as a Guild.

Yuuki and Kokkoro have been living in Landosol for approximately a month before the start of Chapter 1, and Yuuki got to make friends with 'approximately 40 girls'.

Chapter 1

Yuuki and Kokkoro are looking at the job bulletin board as they've ran out of money, and they run into Suzume, an acquaintance of Yuuki's. Suzume is looking for people to help her with moving to the newly set up Sarendia Orphanage and also act as bodyguards, and the two decided to take up the job since it pays well.

The trio were having a meal on the horse carriage en route, when they realise they aren't alone; a mysterious, red-headed girl had sneaked on board. This girl seems to recognise Suzume and Yuuki and addresses the latter as 'Princess Knight', but they have no idea who she is. All of a sudden, she senses something and tells the trio to jump out carriage immediately, and before they could react, the carriage runs over some trap that explodes.

The red-headed girl manages to get the trio out of the carriage in the nick of time, but was terribly injured after shielding them from the blast. Two individuals, a girl named Makoto and a boy named Octo, confront them, with Octo accusing the red-haired girl—who he addresses as 'Muimi'—of stealing his brooch, a family hairloom. Muimi says that Octo was the one who gave her the brooch but he just doesn't remember it. He denies it and tells her that he's also here on a request to capture her. Makoto, who is acquainted with Yuuki, tells Yuuki, Kokkoro and Suzume to get out of here, but before she could capture Muimi, she is shot at by a bow-wielding girl from behind. The girl, Rino, and her companion Shizuru, says they are from the secret organisation "Labyrinth" and they're here to retrieve Novem (i.e. Muimi). Shizuru skillfully parries Makoto and knocks Octo away, and then knocks Muimi out, carrying her away. She then contacts someone she calls "Master" and asks for support via Object Alter. The ground and trees then rapidly change shape as if to block Octo and Makoto from chasing after Shizuru and Rino, and they manage to get away safely.

Chapter 2

Yuuki, Kokkoro and Suzume goes to the Guildhouse of Caon—Makoto's Guild—after getting invited by its Guild Master, Maho, who wants to apologise to the group for Caon getting in the way of their job. After healing them, Maho tries to contact Makoto, who is away questioning Octo, but fails. She then asks Kaori, a member of Caon, to standby for battle as something with a 'horrific aura' is approaching them. Makoto comes back in time and explains that after (beating him to a pulp and) questioning Octo, she realised there was someone giving him orders from the background. Before she could continue, a woman destroys the walls of their Guildhouse and comes in, introducing herself as Christina Morgan, NIGHTMARE's vice-captain.

Chapter 3

Makoto goes on to explain that Caon was set up, as Suzume belongs to Sarendia Orphanage, a subsidiary Guild under Princess Knight. Princess Knight and Doubutsuen have historically been on bad terms due to the racism against Beastfolks and Octo's requesting of Caon's help in Muimi's capture was merely to give Princess Knight an excuse to engage in an all-out war against Doubutsuen, since a member (i.e. Suzume) was 'attacked'. Makoto and Kaori attack Christina, but are no match for her. Kokkoro throws her spear at Christina in an attempt to help, which manages to break her defense and allow Makoto and Kaori to get a hit in. Christina questions if Kokkoro is a 'special existence' like her and 'Her Majesty', and shifts her interest to her instead.

Before the battle could continue, Christina hears a voice from outside and suddenly stops, saying time is up. An Elf girl then opens the door, telling both sides to stop fighting immediately. The girl, Saren—the Guild Master of Sarendia Orphanage and the former vice-captain of NIGHTMARE—tells Christina to retreat immediately as she found out from other NIGHTMARE members that the decision to attack Caon was Christina's own arbitrary decision and the Captain is extremely angry. Christina then retreats, saying she wouldn't mind continuing and cutting down everyone but it would get her in trouble considering Saren's position.

Meanwhile, Christina gets back to the palace and is confronted by Tomo, a member of NIGHTMARE. Jun, the Captain of NIGHTMARE, tells her that her punishment will be decided in the court martial overseen by 'Her Majesty', but adds that she's aware that Christina was under a secret order directly from 'Her Majesty' so she doesn't blame her. Kyaru shows up and says 'Her Majesty' wants to speak to Christina. Before complying Christina questions everyone whether they have ever thought that it's weird that the current Emperor and her right hand are Beastfolks, given Landosol's history. Jun comments that she has never thought of it as strange until Christina brought it up, and that it's incredibly unnatural and off-putting that a Beastfolk is now ruling over the country and that everyone just accepted it naturally.

Chapter 4

Saren, Maho and Jun meet to discuss the incident caused by Christina from the other day. Jun offers her apologies but Maho wants an official apology. Jun tells her that this is the best she can do, as NIGHTMARE directly serves the royal family so for them to publicly announce would be akin to asking the entire country to bow down to Beastfolks, resulting in a political problem where other countries see it as Landosol's weakness and the citizens losing faith in them. Saren, despite being a neutral party, offers her support for Maho. They change the topic to the investigations regarding the recent Shadow happenings. Maho

Arc 2

1 month has passed since Yuuki and co. defeated Kaiser Insight and Pecorine regained her position as the Princess of Landosol.

The falling girlThe falling girl

Yuuki and Kokkoro are on a quest, transporting items. On their way back to Landosol, they see a mother and daughter pair being attacked by monsters and go to their rescue. They invite the pair to join them on the horse carriage they were on, and on the way back, Kokkoro's internal monologue reveals that Yuuki's wounds from the battle against Kaiser Insight have fully healed but he's been having unexplainable, intense headaches every now and then. The girl they saved points out at the sky all of a sudden, prompting the group to look in the direction and realise a blue-haired girl is falling out of the sky, seemingly from Sol Tower, and will no doubt hit the ground and die if nothing is done at this rate. Without hesitation, Yuuki jumps out of the carriage and runs to catch the girl in mid-air. He successfully catches the unconscious girl, but again gets hit with an intense headache and faints soon after that.

The members of Twinkle Wish and Kokkoro look after the unconscious Yuuki and blue-haired girl, worrying about them as they have been unconscious for the past 3 days without any physical injury. While Nebbia teases them to give Yuuki a kiss to wake him out, Yuuki wakes up all of a sudden, looking confused. He then grabs Nebbia and puts her in his mouth, as though he has lost his memories of Arc 1's events and his mental state regressed back to an infant's again (in Rei's words, his condition seemed even worse than how he was at the start of Arc 1). Incidentally, the girl he saved wakes up soon after Yuuki does, and also starts to behave in the same way, putting the poor Guide Fairy in her mouth after she managed to get out of Yuuki's mouth.

Ameth attempts to make contact through a dream, but can't seem to make a good 'connection' this time. Despite that, she tries to explain what has happened in the hopes he is listening (i.e. this is meant to be an explanation to the player regarding what has happened and foreshadowing what is coming next):

  • This is a side effect of him taking back (a portion of) the original Yuuki's powers back in the climax of Arc 1.
  • The girl that he saved—who Kokkoro named 'Sheffy'—is now experiencing the same infantile regression and loss of memory. She seems to be related to Sol Tower in some way, and Ameth asks him to treat her nicely.
  • Ameth has a bad feeling that something big is going to happen soon, and may involve a battle tougher than even the battle against Kaiser Insight.
  • She hopes that she will be able to fight alongside him this time.

Bishokuden and Twinkle Wish have been taking turns looking after the two 'babies'. Kokkoro, Kyaru, Hiyori, Yui, Yuuki and Sheffy are out enjoying themselves at the celebrations for the rebuilding of Landosol (which was badly damaged in the battle against Kaiser Insight), when they run into Pecorine, taking part in an eating competition during her lunch break. Pecorine takes out several artifacts she took from the treasury, hoping they might do something about the two 'babies'. A horse carriage stops nearby and a woman—who Pecorine introduces as Creditta, the Guild Master of Richmond Trade Association, the merchant Guild that has been the biggest contributor to the rebuilding of Landosol—gets out of it and immediately starts rebuking Pecorine for walking and eating on the streets despite her status and for giving a commoner national treasures, a clear act of favouritism. While arguing with the group, Creditta reveals the new landmark of Landosol, Creditta Tower.

Landosol under attack by a mysterious boyLandosol under attack by a mysterious boy

All of a sudden, Creditta Tower explodes. Monsters attack the town, seemingly controlled by a young Demonfolk boy, and the group—with Rei joining in as she was on patrol as part of the security detail—fights to defend the town. Pecorine wants to join them but gets stopped by Gorschin, the Speaker of the Aristocrat Assembly, who tells her to return to the palace as the Princess should not be on the frontline, so Pecorine retreats, promising to send backup. Without Yuuki's power-up, the group struggles against the monsters due to the boy's ability to power-up them. One of the artifacts Pecorine brought earlier, a crystal ball that (possibly) allows one to see their forgotten past, rolls and stops in front of Yuuki, who picks it up and swallows it. Yui tries to use her healing magic on him, but immediately after touching him, she loses control of her magic and starts to glow all of a sudden. The light dispels the power-up on the monsters, allowing the group to defeat them. The boy then teleports away, in a way Kokkoro observes to be akin to King Leap's Dimensional Leap. Just when the group thinks everything is over, Golden Hand, the 'elite' royal soldiers under Gorschin's command, arrives. The group thinks they're the "backup" Pecorine promised, but Golden Hand instead surrounds them, arresting them for being the "wanted criminal and her allies".

The group are being held in a prison cell, when Gorschin appears to let them know that they were arrested for being allies to the criminal who attempted to assassinate the previous Princess (i.e. Kaiser Insight), pointing at Sheffy. He orders a few Golden Hand soldiers to execute them on the spot without a fair trial, to their protests. Before they could do so, the monster tamer boy from earlier on comes crashing through the ceiling, intending to finish off the group for good, causing the cowardly Gorschin and his soldiers to run for their lives. The boy, introducing himself as Kaliza from Rage Legion, attempts to destroy the prison cell, but Pecorine comes to their rescue in the nick of time.

Instead of fighting the boy, Pecorine inexplicably hugs Yuuki, confusing both sides. She explains that Neneka told her to do this in order to awaken his 'new powers'. This causes Yuuki to hear a voice in his head, telling him about "a new key that can sever the darkness" and asking him to chant after her. The moment he does so, light—like the one when Yui glowed and dispelled Kaliza's power-up on his monsters—started to appear underneath both Yui and Pecorine, and the two instinctively shout, "Change: Princess Form", which transforms their appearances and gives them powers unlike anything before. With this newfound power, they manage to overpower Kaliza and his monsters, causing him to retreat using Dimensional Leap.

After the battle, the group gathers for a meal and Pecorine and Yui are eating crazy portions of food, a side effect of using Priness Form. Pecorine explains to the group what had happened: Neneka, disguised as a soldier, told her about how Yuuki and co. got arrested and explained that his current state is a result of wielding an incompatible power (i.e. the powers he took back during the fight against Kaiser Insight), which caused his soul itself to get damaged. She also added that while he may be able to relearn words and stuff, he'll never fully go back to the person he was before. The new powers, which Neneka named "Princess Form", was actually first observed in the final battle against Kaiser Insight when Yuuki powered-up Pecorine, and that artifact helped bring it out properly. She also warned them about Rage Legion—which from her investigations, its members all hold powers similar to and perhaps surpassing the Seven Crowns—a group that has quietly but swiftly suppressed all the unsavoury organisations that used to be under Kaiser Insight's command and may attack Landosol in the near future. She thinks Rage Legion is possibly connected to that 'root of evil' that Kaiser Insight was talking about. She concluded that Yuuki will need to master his new powers or they'll not stand a chance against their new enemies. Labyrista suddenly shows up and adds on that the powers she gave back to Yuuki were just his own original powers, so this Princess Form is a new, evolved form of his powers. Sheffy for some reason glares at Labyrista, biting at her sleeves. While they were talking, Yuuki has wandered out of the restaurant without anyone noticing...

RanphaRanpha

A Demonfolk girl is wandering about on the streets of Landosol when she bumps into two thugs. The thugs, who initially wanted the girl to apologise, notices her beauty and instead bugs her, trying to get her to hang out with them. The soft-spoken girl tries to get them to stop, but when she realises they wouldn't, orders them to "please die" instead, killing them. She comments to herself how she shouldn't have come to the city seeing how "noisy" it is, but she then hears the cries of a baby. She follows the cries and finds Yuuki, who is crying because he is lost. The girl is happy when she manages to pacify him and introduces herself as Ranpha. Kokkoro soon comes to pick Yuuki up, and thanks Ranpha for finding him. Ranpha, before leaving, tells the two to get out Landosol while they still can, as everyone will die. After Ranpha disappears, Labyrista shows up and tells Kokkoro that according to her hypothesis, there are 2 conditions required in order to wield the powers of Princess Form. One is to having defeated a powerful Seven Crowns-class enemy. She whispers the other condition into Kokkoro's ears (not meant to be heard by the player). Labyrista then leaves them to go look for Shizuru and Rino, and the other girls join up with Yuuki and Kokkoro and they head back home.

Ranpha teleports back to her 'home', in a tower far away from Landosol. She is hugged from behind by a girl she addresses as Misora, and they're soon joined by a pig-type Beastfolk man named Azold, a Dragonfolk man named Zane and Kaliza (which indicates to the player that these are the members of Rage Legion). It is revealed in their conversation that:

  • They plan to destroy Landosol
  • Zane is their Guild Master.
  • They have a 'sponsor' that has the ability to grant wishes.
  • They don't know each other well and have only gathered to get their 'wishes granted'.
  • They are after the Seven Crowns and their sponsor tells them they'll grant one wish for each Seven Crowns captured (so they need to capture 5 of them).
  • They just need 4 more, because Rajiraji is already in their possession, imprisoned in Ranpha's jade crystal.

A few days later, Ranpha launches her attack on Landosol, creating Wyverns created from nephrite jade. Twilight Caravan happens to see one and attacks it in an attempt to protect the city, but the wyvern was completely unscathed from Ruka and Eriko's attacks. Ruka, Eriko and Mitsuki then buy time for Nanaka and Anna to perform a powerful spell that finally takes down the wyvern, only for 5 more wyverns to appear. Ranpha shows up, and the 5 prepare to fight her.

Bishokuden and Twinkle Wish rush to the commotion, only to discover Ranpha single-handedly defeated the infamous Twilight Caravan and has them trapped in crystal jade. They confront Ranpha and she formally introduces her as Ranpha from Rage Legion. They demand to know why Rage Legion is attacking the city, and she says they need to do that in order to get their wishes granted. The two sides then engage in battle.

Pecorine and Yui attempt to use Princess Form to fight, but it fails for some reason and the group quickly gets overwhelmed by Ranpha's powerful magic and wyvern army. Yuuki shields Kokkoro from a wyvern's breath attack, leaving her the only one in the group to be able to move freely as everyone else is partially crystalised. Ranpha offers to let Kokkoro go, but Kokkoro refuses to stand down, to which Ranpha points out the sense of uncertainty in Kokkoro's heart (Ranpha's ability allows her to 'hear' souls). Kokkoro admits that she is indeed lost because while she knows she needs to help everyone in Astrum understand that this is not their reality (as tasked by Akira), she also fears that her adventure with Yuuki will end when everyone makes it out of Astrum. However, Kokkoro steels her resolve to fight in order to protect everyone, and seemingly in response, Yuuki temporarily breaks out of his infantile state and instructs her to come to his side while he chants, unlocking Kokkoro's Princess Form. With her newfound powers, she is able to dispel the wyverns' crystalisation effects on everyone and severely weaken the wyverns, allowing her to take them out with ease.

This time, Kokkoro offers to let Ranpha go instead. Ranpha doesn't stand down and starts to charge up mana (which in Pecorine's words, rivals Kaiser's Insight's mana), preparing for a more powerful attack. Before she is able to do so, the now-freed Twilight Caravan fires a powerful combination magic spell at her, stopping her. The shockwave from the attack also creates a huge dust cloud and blasts Yuuki and co. away, and Kokkoro's Princess Form is dispelled. When the cloud clears, the group finds Yuuki hugging Ranpha and falling asleep like a baby. Kokkoro demands Ranpha to step away from him and she obliges, telling Twilight Caravan to be quiet because "he is asleep". Ranpha then teleports away. Rei says she thinks she saw Sheffy in the shadows for a moment, but they eventually agreed that it was probably just her imagination since Sheffy should be sound asleep in the Guildhouse by now.
